Virtual Classroom Policies
How live online classes work, what you need, and the rules for virtual and hybrid students.
Last updated September 2026. Registered as a career college under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Parts of our programs are delivered live over Zoom. These policies apply to every student in a virtual or hybrid class, and they’re part of your enrolment.
How virtual delivery works
- Classroom (theory) lessons are delivered live over Zoom, at scheduled times. There are no pre-recorded lessons in place of live classes.
- All in-car instruction happens in person.
- Before your course starts, you’ll get your program delivery breakdown showing which subjects are online and which are in person, plus an orientation to Zoom and our online materials.
What you need
- A laptop or tablet with a working webcam, microphone and speakers.
- A stable high-speed internet connection.
- Zoom (free) and Adobe Acrobat Reader or another PDF reader.
- A quiet space where you can take part without interruption.
Attendance and participation
- Your webcam must stay on for every class.
- Attendance is mandatory for the full dates and times of your course. If you miss time, you’ll need to repeat days.
- Only you may attend your classes or complete your evaluations. Letting someone else take part for you is grounds for expulsion.
Identity and security
- We verify your identity for every assessment, for example by checking your photo ID on camera.
- Keep your Zoom links, usernames, passwords and access codes private. Don’t share them with anyone.
- Classes may not be recorded by students without permission.
Your privacy online
We handle your information in virtual classes the same way as in person. See our Privacy Policy.
Fees, refunds, expulsion and complaints
There are no extra fees for virtual delivery. Our Fee and Refund Policy, Student Expulsion Policy and Student Complaint Procedure apply the same way to virtual and hybrid classes as to in-person classes.
